Exploring and Uncovering: Dubai

6 May 2017

2017 started on a good note for this lawyer, because her case vs the World saw great progress. I was fortunate enough to put on witness stand, three new cities to strengthen my case, and boy was the Jury impressed!

Have a look yourself at the Case proceedings when I put one of the cities on stand; the land of arabs, oil and royalty – Dubai!

1. Miracle Garden

It is only after I reached Dubai did I get to know that these gardens are open to public only for four months in a year and we were lucky to have visited just in time to see the garden in full bloom. Just outside the city, this Garden is right next to a Circuit. A ticket for an adult costs AED 40 and you can do the entire garden in 3 hours total. The Garden is also host to the Butterfly Garden having the entry through Miracle Garden itself. I would highly suggest getting there as early as possible and avoid visiting on weekends to avoid the insane crowd.

2. Burj Khalifa

View from the 124th Floor

Burj Khalifa actually has its entry from the Dubai Mall, which is the largest mall I have ever set foot into. We spent the whole day there and we still could not cover the entire mall! While you are there, do visit The Cheesecake Factory for their awesome food and an even more awesome cheesecakes, as well as Booba to have the best Bubble Tea ever!

3. Jumeirah Beach

Jumeirah Beach is quite and calm, while overlooking the Burj Al Arab Hotel

4. Desert Safari

By the time we were done with the thrilling experience of the desert safari, it was time for sunset and we caught the perfect golden hour lighting.

Dances and firework performances are usually part of the whole package of desert safaris.

I did also visit Mall of Emirates which has the famous Snow Park and if you have a few hours, I would highly recommend going there.  But do not forget your cap, gloves and socks as it gets super chilly inside (they maintain the temperature at -4 degrees celsius)!

Secret Tip

If you are a shopaholic, or just looking to shop with your heart, visit Dubai during the Dubai Shopping Festival. It is the only shopping festival I have seen till date which actually has great discounts.

However, if you want the best possible deals on the already discounted prices of the Dubai Shopping Festival on designer bags, shoes, clothes and run of the mill brands like Reebok, Adidas, Clarks, ONLY, Charles and Keith, etc, go to the Outlet Mall! I was surprised to see the crazy discounts and the fact that nobody tells you about this mall. The deals there are too good to miss, and are basically at throw away prices.

I honestly loved all these places I visited and I still have a long list for the next time! However, I really wish I had gone in the off season with lesser tourists in the city.

Which have been your favourite places to visit in and around Dubai? Let me know in the comments below!

Until my next witness!
